WHAT ARE ADAPTED LESSONS?

Adapted Lessons focus on the learning of technical and theoretical skills involved in learning an musical instrument.

Who ARE ADAPTED LESSONS for?

Adapted Lessons are for all ages and abilities. They are for those who are interested in learning a specific musical instrument in a flexible and supported environment.

WHAT HAPPENS IN AN ADAPTED LESSON?

Your tutor will give you resources weekly to practice and take home. Your tutor will support you to learn both the technical skills involved in playing your instrument as well as teaching you theoretical skill.

ARE LESSONS DIFFERENT TO THERAPY?

Music Therapy uses music to attain non-musical goals. Music is utilised as the medium and motivator for change. Music Lessons however are education based where the goal is to learn an instrument.

Adapted Lesson

Adapted music lessons aim to teach those with a disability to play an instrument of choice e.g. Guitar, Piano, Voice etc. A music therapist is a great option to teach adapted lessons as they have a more complete knowledge of a variety of diagnoses.  A music therapist will adapt the lesson plan to meet the specific needs of the individual and work within his/her ability level.
We offer Guitar, Piano, Voice, and various Woodwind Instruments.
